Why it ranks here
Same Sienna Hybrid platform as the used candidate at rank 3, with two material upgrades for a long-hold: full 10-year/240,000 km hybrid battery warranty starts fresh from purchase (used 2022โ23 examples have 6โ7 yrs remaining), and the horizon-end residual projection is materially higher (~$23k vs ~$11k for the used). The premium over the used version is ~$7k on-road; whether that's worth it depends on how much weight you put on the warranty tail and the residual delta.
Trade-offs
Highest on-road price of any minivan in the comparison. Ground clearance of 170 mm is among the lowest in the field. The minivan format limits FSR utility (sliding doors and low body are highway/urban features). Same fuel economy as the used Sienna Hybrid; no electrification beyond the hybrid system.

Why it ranks here
The only PHEV minivan available in the comparison โ 51 km of EV range covers most Metro Vancouver daily driving on home electricity, and the 10-year/240,000 km Stellantis traction-battery warranty has ~7 yrs left at purchase. Sliding doors + flat floor + genuine adult-friendly 3rd row are the minivan structural advantages. 8-year/160k km PHEV component warranty is U.S. only โ in Canada the Stellantis warranty is 8yr/130k on hybrid system + 10yr/240k on battery.
Trade-offs
Stellantis reliability is a real concern โ Consumer Reports rates the Pacifica below average, with electrical-system complaints concentrated in the hybrid version. Cargo is excellent but ground clearance of 130 mm is the lowest in this field โ FSR use is not on the table. FWD only (no AWD on Pacifica Hybrid). Used supply in BC is thin.

Why it ranks here
Scores the maximum 5 on car seat fit, cargo utility, and corridor performance. The sliding rear doors are a daily convenience with young children that no SUV in this comparison matches. Cargo at 949 L behind the third row is nearly double the Sorento PHEV. Fuel economy at ~6.5 L/100km is the best non-plug-in vehicle here, producing a ~1,077 km tank range. Toyota #1 reliability and 10-year/240,000 km hybrid battery warranty.
Trade-offs
Ground clearance of 160โ175 mm is the lowest of all 12 candidates โ a highway and urban vehicle; FSR use is not recommended. The minivan format is a personal preference โ functionally it is the most practical layout for a family of five with young children.
